Ultimate Guide of Slide The Block Game

Slide the Block

I was surfing the puzzle category on my play store games before I found this little cute square icon. I was wondering about my finger pushing a ladybug when I saw that icon. Then, I decided to download this pretty awesome game. Slide the Block is a puzzle game. If you know the mechanism of push the box where we have to find a way out of a block, this basic mechanism is just like that.

First thing first, this game rule is simple. Each level there are at least 2 red blocks. Your goal is to merge the red blocks by sliding the red blocks or the other blocks. Pretty simple, right? On the main menu, you will see 2 categories, PLAY (to play casual puzzle) and EPISODE (to play the episode puzzle). When I was writing this, it was on valentine episode. And that’s it. I’ll back here later. When you press PLAY you will see some difficulties, relax, intense, magnet 1, magnet 2, chaos 1, and chaos 2. Okay, although I haven’t finish the game yet, but I will share what I know and what I have been through haha.

Scoring

On the top right screen, you will notice two things. Best and the star symbol. The best column will tell you your least move to solve the puzzle in that level. And the star symbol indicates what is the maximum moves you have to use to get a star on that level. So, let say the star symbol show number 6. So, you have to make maximum 6 moves to solve the puzzle. Then you will get star. The score after you solve the puzzle is determined by 1000 minus your moves. If you used 50 moves, your score is 950. The score will be sum up to be shown on your leaderboard.

Unlocking Level

There are 120 levels on the Relax mode. And you can directly play all the episode. You don’t have to play from level 1! On the episode choosing menu, you will see the level with a star and the level with a tick mark. The star means you have solved the puzzle under the maximum moves that was determined by the game. The tick mark means that you have solved the puzzle but you use too many moves than it requires. So, to unlock the Intense mode you need 60 stars from relax mode. To unlock the magnet 2 mode, you need 30 stars from magnet 1 mode, and to unlock the chaos 2, you need 15 stars from chaos 1 mode. Or you can just pay IDR 48.000 to unlock all modes and need more challenges. For episode mode, the one that I mention earlier, is unlocked by posting the game on your Facebook or Instagram.

Gameplay

Technically, there are 3 modes that you can play, regular, magnet, and chaos.

Regular

There are two difficulties here, relax and intense. Here you will face a regular puzzle. There will be a bunch of 1x1 box, a couple of 1x2 box, or a 2x2 box. You will even face an L shape box later in the higher level. All of them can be slide on any direction (vertically and horizontally). I am not a player who aim for the least move. So, I like to messing around with the box. And I even use 100+ moves just to solve one level. The build of the difficulties by the level is good. You will not face the problem unless you already done it before. There are some puzzles that actually have the same way to solve but with different box position, so you have to remember the best way to solve it. Don’t worry, if you get stuck, you can use the hint button that will appear after your moves is higher than it should be. But, you have to pay to use it.

Magnet

There are also two difficulties here, Magnet 1 and Magnet 2. On this mode, you will always see a box that has the U Magnet symbol with identical color. If you move the box with the magnet symbol, the other box with the same color will move to the same direction. So, if one of the box way is blocked, you can’t move that magnetic boxes. I think this mode is not as difficult as it looks. Sometimes, you don’t have to move the magnetic box to solve the puzzle. But, I got stuck when I found a small space with two magnetic boxes.

Chaos

There are two difficulties here, Chaos 1 and Chaos 2. This mode is insane. You will face a lot of unregular boxes in on level. 2x2 with L and T shaped boxes. Not just one, but two. I am still figuring out how to finish this mode. I found it like it is impossible but I know that this mode is solvable.

Graphic

I like the color and the theme of this game. It is really kawaiiii. The soft color doesn’t make your eyes sore and add more the cuteness level. Especially how the red blocks change their eyes and mouth whenever we almost make them merge. They also say something like “Phew”, “XOXO”, “WOW” if we don’t touch it for a while. Totally, I like this kind of graphic very much.

Conclusion

This game is good for you that want challenge, like puzzle, especially this kind of puzzle. I don’t really get bored playing this game, rather I usually forgot that I already play for a long time. I just got bored if I got stuck, and I used to stop playing before play it again after my mind is back to normal. You can also play this game to kill your time just like other puzzle game. But, I like how the idea of sliding box puzzle game was added by how you merge the red blocks. What I dislike about this game is only my phone got really hot when I play over 10 minutes. I don’t know with the other device but mine is like that. I give a 4/5 for this game.
