Cytus [Review]

Hi guys! Such a long time no see. This time I will review a game called cytus.

So, I have been playing this game in about 1 and half year (pretty long time), but i never post anything about this game. The reason I keep on playing this game till now, because this game is amazingly awesome! What is it actually? Let's see it!

This is a rhythm game. Rythm game is kind of action game that will challange your sense of rhythm. Cytus will have a scan line and some dots that we need to touch when the scan line is on top of the dots. That is the basic thing in Cytus. But, that's not the only reason I love this game so much.

You can see on the left side, there is a picture of humanoid girl standing. She is actually the main character in the fictional story of cytus. This is the story told by the developer itself:
In the distant future, the only sentient beings in the world are robots.
They are the last remnant of the human spirit.
However, mankind is not dead.
Technology exists that is capable of transferring memories to these robots.
But with limited space, new memories will gradually overwrite the old.
To prevent the emotions in human memories from fading away, the robots resorted to converting the emotions to music, and storing them in a place called Cytus.
The robots use these songs to experience human emotion and dream that souls exists in each of them...
Cytus
In short story, she will bring back the memories of human by using music in the future.

Well, Cytus now is on its 7 version. It has 15 chapters including about 10 songs in every chapter with 2 difficulties. From chapter 1 through 10, you can play Cytus Alive which contain the story of that girl in the opening screen from the beginning till the end. You can access it by pressing the 'easy' and 'hard' count number in front of the chapter title. The story is good. I like how they bring the player to the world of cytus.

Cytus has all genres of music, from pop, jazz, trance, till hardcore. Those various of music genres won't make players get bored. Instead the will enjoy the music while playing the game. I love most of the composer of cytus song. They make really enjoyfull and dynamic songs. And what I like most is they make a lot of oldish instrumental song back to a modern style of music, just like 'Libera Me' or 'Saika'. Yet, the song with vocal is beautiful. I can't describe how good the woman voice but it just amazing. And those kind of song provide a satisfiying feedback for taps.

Not just the music, Cytus come with good art of drawing. Every song has its own wallpaper and it's drawn really well by amazing artist.

For example this art from Chapter XII : Masquerade. The woman looks gorgeous and faboulous yet syncronize with the title and the theme of the song. Plus, every song has its own symbol. The symbol is unique and has its own character. Just like this song, the symbol is the mask of that girl.

Cytus come with 9 different level. But, all the level 9 songs are not that hard, it depends on its bpm too I think. Since I did a MM for some of it. Talk about MM which stands for Million Master, this is where you got all perfect in a song. The maximun score in cytus is 1 Million , so that's why it's called million master.

To access all features of Cytus we need to pay $1,99 and also to unlock a chapter it costs $4,99 . Pretty cheap right? but the have a project called Million Download Plan. Once there are 100,000 people who downloaded the pay version of Cytus they will unlock one chapter for free and add 10 more songs. Well, you can wait untill they unlock all of it or you can buy if you are not patient to play it. But, I guess you won't patient to play it.

Last, The game developer itself, Rayark, Inc. It is located in Taiwan. It was founded on 2011. They already make 2 rhythm game and 1 casual game. They got a lot of achievement. Well, Their purpose is to make a high-quality gaming experience to the player. and they are developing a 3D action game right now. Good Luck , I always support you.

That is all guys, hopefully you enjoy the game. :) You will!
